Love your materials, and I’ve learned a lot from looking at how you do things. However, need to comment on two things. First, the scale of your testobject (SolidModel) is 0.106. When hitting CTRL-A and assign the scale to get it to 1, the material is not scaled correctly. This makes it difficult to use in other project without fixing the scale in some of the nodes in the material.
Secondly it would be great if you would clean the files of materials and other things you’re not using and just focus on the important things. That would make it much easier.
Looking forward to seeing more great things on this site and the facebook group 🙂
Thank you! The “show” file was just something I got external, so I have not looked in to it thoroughly but I can now see that you are correct. Will go through and change my zip files when I get some time for it to make them cleaner. Once again thanks for the feedback. All these small things help me give you all a good experience :).
I have downloaded all your textures. One query although. These textures were created in 2018. Is there some changes to be done for making it work for current version of blender or changing the node trees for making it work with less memory usage.
It depends on textures. Since 2.83 there has been a lot of upgrades in nodes so it might be that some can be optimized a lot.
In progress of doing a major change on these pages.
These are great, and have saved me a lot of time with wracking my brain to figure out how to create a realistic metal design, these are just being used on an anvil for a school assignment. -a year 11 student from New South Wales, Australia
I have the same node settings
but at the lesson “Realistic material in Blender, part 16; fuel”
Why with different BumpStrenght values (0.01 to 100 and over)
I can never see the real high boundary fuel?
Thanks for an answer
Many thanks for spreading this kind of excellent subject matter on your site. I discovered it on the search engines. I am going to check to come back once you publish much more aricles.
Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same outcome.
no blend in zip
Thanks for the notice. This is now fixed 🙂
I cannot see blendfile for this one.
Other than that, great job on all the pbr materials 🙂
Thanks, fixed :)!
thanks. it could be better that all your comment is put into the blender files
Yes, you are right :). There are some considerations on most materials that would be good to know.
I’ll have that in made on my continues production.
